Most of the children’s brands on the market often create very abstract or overly anthropomorphic styles for children’s illustrations, but they do not correspond to reality and mislead children. For example, in an elephant, “modern fashion” illustrators can draw a long tail and tusks that grow from the ears, and the elephant itself can be red.
We were approached by the Chinese brand of wooden toys “ToyWoo” with the task of making illustrations interesting for children while preserving the real parameters of animals as much as possible. In our work, we used the classic style, which shows the correspondence of the animal’s body structure and color to real life. By adding additional accents – elements to the main character, we got interesting illustrations that we want to look at.
